I based my pinch pot on a pumpkin for the autumn season. I added dimension to the pot by carving bumps into the sides to look like a realistic pumpkin, I also created a stem on the top of the pumpkin to even more realistic. I smoothed the pot out nicely to create a clean look.
ARCHITECTURE SLAB PROJECT
THEME: Flower
I structured character to my piece by making bumps on the top and a circle in the middle for dimension to look like a flower. I was inspired by the cute doodles of flowers that look like shapes to make this piece. I like how simplistic my piece is and I love the flower shape.
WHEEL THROWN POTS
I made a collection of simple little pots. I think these posts could be used for multiple things, so it gives them variety. When making them I didn’t really have a plan, I was just figuring out how to do it because it turns out to be way harder than it looks.
WATER DROPPERS
1. THEME: Elephant
For my first water dropper I was inspired by an elephant and thought it would be really cute with the water coming out of the trunk just like a real elephant. I made the body of the elephant then added the details like the ears, trunk, and eyes. I really like how it turned out but wish I made it a little smaller.
2. THEME: Knome
For my second water dropper I was inspired by the cute garden knomes, with the water coming out of the top of the hat. I made the hat look like a mushroom by putting the spots on it. I think I made this one the perfect size. I really love the knome and think it’s my favorite piece I’ve done in this class.
COIL POT
THEME: Pancakes
I shaped this coil pot to look like pancakes on a plate. I used the coils for the pancakes and added some butter on top and a strawberry on the side to add more detail, and to look cute. I had trouble creating the coils for this, but I think it still came out good in the end.
